What is O2Block® additives for barrier applications?
Surface-modified organoclay additives based on a selection of layered minerals (phillosilicates) and food contact approved surface modification systems. These products are specifically designed to create a barrier for migrants, such as oxygen, water vapour, oils.
How does it work?
As a simplified explanation, O2Block® additives are dispersed within a polymer system and create a more tortuous path for any migrant thereby increasing the barrier properties of the polymer.
Focus Applications: Packaging (Food, cosmetics, medical)
Objective: Increased product protection and shelf-life
Main polymer systems:
